Safe Start: Safe Future is a manual designed to assist those working with children in the 0-6 age range to implement the Protective Behaviours Process.
The process outlined in this manual is based on the two main themes of Protective Behaviours, Safety and Networking. The aim is that staff and parents work together to help children take the adventurous risks so essential to their growth and development, secure in the knowledge that there are adults ‘holding a safety net’ for them, ready and available to help them when required, and to make sure that their ‘falls’ are not too painful.
